Clutch Geno Smith TD scramble vs. 49ers keeps Seahawks season alive

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Seattle Seahawks had lost five of their last six games heading into their Week 1 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. The NFC West standings have been bunched up all season, but it was hard to believe the Seahawks could still get in the division race with a loss to the 49ers.

Seattle’s defense was up to the challenge from the very start of the game. The Seahawks’ offense struggled, mostly because QB Geno Smith couldn’t get into a rhythm. With the game on the line in the fourth quarter, Smith delivered the biggest play of the night with his feet.

With 12 seconds left in regulation, the Seahawks were facing 2nd-and-2 from the 49ers’ 12-yard-line. That’s when Smith broke contain and rushed into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.

The Seahawks beat the 49ers, 20-17. Watch Smith’s clutch scramble for the win here:

If Smith doesn’t get into the end zone there, the clock runs out and the 49ers win the game. Smith didn’t throw a touchdown all afternoon, but he came through with the game-winning scramble when his team needed it.

The Seahawks’ season isn’t done yet. Geno Smith did that.
